Hip-hop mogul and watch aficionado Jay-Z has joined Audemars Piguet in a partnership to celebrate the rap star's 10th anniversary, at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York, in the music industry with a collection of luxury wristwatches.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary Limited Edition series will consist of 100 timepieces sold exclusively at the Company’s U.S. flagship boutique in New. Three versions will be made available as follows: 50 stainless steel ($23,500), 30 rose gold ($43,900), and 20 platinum ($69,500). Each timepiece will be engraved on the back with “Royal Oak Offshore Jay-Z 10th Anniversary” around the top and “Limited Edition” around the bottom finished off with Jay-Z’s signature on the case back’s center. |

Further distinguishing the Jay-Z Anniversary Limited Edition from other models in the Offshore series will be that the number 10 on the watch dial will be set in diamonds. Completing the overall look, platinum models will have royal blue crocodile straps and both the stainless steel and rose gold models will have elegant black crocodile straps.
Jay-Z has been collected watches since 1997 and first met Audemars Piguet North America President Francois-Henry Bennahmias about five years ago. The two have been working on the anniversary watch series over the past two years. A portion of the proceeds from the each watch sale from the collection will benefit the S. Carter Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization founded by Jay-Z and his mother Gloria Carter. Jay-Z currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. | |
