Audemars Piguet (Renaud et Papi) S.A. in Le Locle
In 1986, watchmakers trained at the Manufacture Audemars Piguet, Dominique Renaud and Giulio Papi, decided to test their wings by founding their very own company producing mechanical watches with complex movement mechanisms. A general partnership company and subsequently a limited liability company, the firm developed rapidly up to the point where it was clearly necessary to seek a partner to guarantee its long-term existence. In 1992, Audemars Piguet became the majority shareholder and Renaud et Papi S.A. was renamed Audemars Piguet S.A. Over the years, AP RP has asserted itself as a leader in the production of extremely sophisticated timekeepers. This ongoing success has led it to considerably expand its production site on September 2003 – the new building is three times larger than before – through a futuristic architectural project characterised by an emphasis on luminosity and serenity.
AP Renaud et Papi products
Today, most of the production of AP RP is intended for the Manufacture Audemars Piguet. In this way, its dedication to the development of horological functions, to the quest for original production methods and the use of materials never used in watchmaking, have enabled AP RP to conceive and produce exceptional timekeepers such as the Jules Audemars womens’ minute repeater chiming on three gongs, the Jules Audemars grand strike on three gongs with Dynamograph and striking-mechanism power-reserve indicator, the Edward Piguet tourbillon with mainplate in rutile quartz, the Jules Audemars large date model with minute repeater, tourbillon and perpetual calendar, as well as the Edward Piguet watch with tourbillon, chronograph and power-reserve indicator and Dynamograph, and more recently, the Royal Oak Concept watch.
