The Royal Oak Tapada de Mafra

Representing a forest dear to the heart of the Portuguese, the Tapada National de Mafra was ravaged by forest fires in the summer of 2003. While the scars remain, this 833-hectare area surrounded by a protective wall has regained its wild charm, the fauna has returned to its hiding places, and many tourists once again come there to seek relaxation and closer contact with nature, today.

The estate was in fact named after the 21-kilometre wall surrounding it, since Tapada means an estate circled by a wall. The 21 Royal Oak Tapada de Mafra watches evoke these 21 kilometres of wall that were spared by the severe fire.
